Rescue Food, Feed People

Each year in the United States, we waste 133 billion pounds of food. That equals 40% of all food produced. Meanwhile, 1 in 6 Americans doesn’t know where their next meal will come from.

Do you find this issue concerning? We do too!

This is a community meeting (open the to the public!) for people passionate about reducing food waste. We'll discuss ways we can help potentially wasted food reach people in Durham who can eat it. Bring your thoughts, ideas, knowledge, and questions about food waste and recovery!

Central Park's Food Truck Rodeo

Come say hi, learn about what we're up to, and check out our merch, especially the stuff that can reduce your food truck rodeo waste!

A Durham Central Park Food Truck Rodeo is an all-ages Sunday afternoon gathering of dozens of the Triangle’s most popular food trucks, five times each year. This is the original food truck rodeo of the Triangle–an event that helped start the food truck craze. The event is free to attend. You simply pay for what you decide to eat from the trucks’ menus–from savory and stick-to-your-ribs to sweet treats. Locally-brewed craft beer and wine are always on hand. Sunday, June 17 is our next Food Truck Rodeo! Celebrate Father’s Day with the Triangle’s Go-go band, Project 919 Band!
